Dear Parents/Guardians,
As part of our Music curriculum at Double Branch Elementary we strive to have a variety of performance opportunities for each grade level throughout the school year. We also give students many opportunities to practice appropriate concert manners so that when they leave our school they are well versed in what is expected from them as performers or as an audience member.
We are very excited to inform you that in honor of Presidents’ Day, students in kindergarten and 1st Grade will be participating in our annual Patriotic Performance! Due to the number of students that will be performing, we have divided the K/1 students into two performing groups. Please see the schedule below for your child’s performance day. These performances will be held at Double Branch Elementary in our cafeteria at 10:00 a.m. each day. Parents are invited to attend if your schedule allows. Remember that all visitors must check in at the front office with their driver’s license. Please make sure to allow enough time for this process. Please also make sure that your child’s media release on the Parental Bill of Rights is filled out so that they are able to be on stage for the performance. If you do not have this filled out, the students will have to stand on the side of the stage on the floor during the performance since we are recording the performances to put on our DBES YouTube station.
We would also like to put together a slide show of our veterans to show during the performance. If you or a family member are in the military, and would like to be included in our slide show, please send the picture electronically to Mrs. Coyne or Miss Collins at our email address below. We request that you send a picture that does not contain weaponry since this cannot be included due to district policy. Please do not send in hard copies of pictures, as we do not want to take the chance of losing your precious memories.
Pictures MUST be sent in no later than February 11th in order for us to prepare the slide show.
