We are excited to announce that our 2nd and 3rd grade musical for 2024 is
“SUMMER CAMP!”
by John Jacobson and Mac Huff.
ALL STUDENTS in 2nd and 3rd grade will be performing
Please see the schedule below to find out when your class is performing and the times of the performances.
April 23rd the following classes will be performing at 10:00 a.m. AND at 6:30 p.m.: Shannon, Stalans, Levin, Agnes, Jennings, Baig, Pramberger.
April 25th the following classes will be performing at 10:00 a.m. AND at 6:30 p.m.: Benson, Horner, Joyce, Morris, Glen, Henderson and Duguid.
Costume ideas and other details of the performance will be upcoming so STAY TUNED!
ATTENTION PARENTS/GUARDIANS: 2/3 Musical April 23 or 25th!
The 2/3 musical is fast approaching! Please encourage your child to get on our dbesmusic website at https://dbes.pasco.k12.fl.us/music-page/ as often as possible to practice the songs! The links on the page are downloadable so that you can download them to their device for practice ease! We want students to feel confident. If your child has a speaking part, please take a few minutes to work with them each day to ensure that they know their part.
Below are the details of the musical and the letter you should have received a few weeks ago. There is also a list of costume ideas for you- just look for your child’s character and you will see what they are to wear for both performances. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Dear Parents/Guardians:
As part of our Music curriculum at Double Branch Elementary we strive to have a variety of performance opportunities for each grade level throughout the school year. We also give students many opportunities to practice appropriate concert manners so that when they leave our school they are well versed in what is expected from them as a performer or as an audience member.
We are excited to tell you that we are beginning to work on the 2nd and 3rd grade musicals. All of 2nd and 3rd grade will be performing a musical entitled “Summer Camp!” This musical will be performed here at Double Branch Elementary in our cafeteria. Because our 2nd and 3rd grade is so large, we will need to split our students into 2 groups.

Two Shows and Times:
Performance #1: Students will be performing the musical for half of the school during the school day.
Performance #2: The performance for families and friends will take place in cafeteria at Double Branch Elementary and will begin at 6:30 p.m. that evening. Students will need to arrive in the music room at 6:00 p.m. that evening to prepare.

Costume Ideas: (if colors are not specified, any color will work)
ALL Campers, Emcee, Counselors, Bonnie Blogger and Chorus members:
Bright colored plain t-shirt and shorts, tennis shoes, optional ideas: plain baseball hat, bandana, binoculars
Mom- Dress w/apron (we have an apron if needed)
Bob– Shirt/Tie/Suit coat (we have a suit coat if needed)
Carol– Dress
Mosquitos– Grey or white plain t-shirt and shorts, tennis shoes. (Shorts-can be light or dark colored)
Horse Flies– Blue plain T-shirt (any shade) and shorts, tennis shoes.
Spiders– undershirt of some type, black shorts or pants, tennis shoes. We have a special black T-shirt for them to wear and a hat.
Lady Bugs– Black shorts/yoga pants, Plain red t-shirt, tennis shoes. (We have wings and headband)
Army Ants- Camouflage shirt, pants or shorts, tennis shoes. (We have a special hat)
Bear– Brown shorts, if possible, undershirt of some sort, tennis shoes. (We have a bear sweatshirt)
