Dianne Kulwicki BensonYes! The 5th grade team looked at the task of moving all our furniture individually. We quickly realized we needed to lean on each other. We had just finished room 2 out of 6....and in walked the Sand Pine Squad. Joining them was our fearless leader, Mrs. Chandler, and some of our own beautiful teachers. The job was done within minutes!! Thanks to all!

Our Double Branch Elementary Shelter Team is unbelievably amazing! Opening a shelter is a really tough task and I witnessed the Wesley Chapel community come together again to support one another. Our shelter welcomed over 300 guests from all over the state of Florida. Our goal was to make sure people felt safe and were comfortable – well as comfortable as you can be in a shelter. This team worked hard to make sure the school was ready to accept evacuees. Additionally, they worked to make sure the registration process was fast, assisted with getting people to their dorms, assisted with getting bedding and supplies to the guest’s area, fed our guests, provided guests with needed supplies, took care of pets, and made sure people knew that we cared about them and that they were safe. I thank each and every one of you for everything you do for DBES and our Wesley Chapel Community. Thank you Heather Wallen, Jill Briscoe, Kim Newberry, Joy Salerno, Keith Reiley, Cheri Morris, Miriam Ventilato, Mary & Emily Baig & Friend, Sarah Agnes, Beth Stevens, Becky Gilmore, Jennifer, Rob, Lauren and Katie Richard, Andrea, Adrian, Ayden, Ashten, and Austen Smith, Terry Stalns, Linda Dlugozima, Ghada and Yasmine Nashag, Justin Castro, Golab Ram, Melinda Benetiez, David, Jan and Stephanie Levin, Nikki, Yamani, Brianna and Hailey Vazquez, Amy Ponce, Don Niles, Mary Vullo, Denise Sherwood and Family, Lisa LaFormme, Pam Patrick, Sean Sullivan, Ghada and Yasmine Nashag, Monica and David Zummo, Mark Morrison, Mark Mitchell and team, and Edna Alexander.

Mark Fox and Monica Isle – Thank you for being available to provide needed supplies, critical updates and support. I appreciate you.

Thank you to the evacuees that took shelter at Double Branch. We loved getting to know you and appreciate the care that you took with our home.

Linda DlugozimaA huge shout out to you, Mrs. Chandler for staying there from opening on Saturday until closing on Monday with such poise and that's even after you'd already worked another shelter the day before. It was said that you were the talk of the shelter! Your kindness, gentleness and overall compassion for all of the evacuees was evident with each person that made contact with you. I heard some share with you, but the magnitude of appreciation they had for you extended far beyond the appreciation that was expressed to you. ❤️Thank you for being an amazing leader in our community.

Michael CannataWhile my Wife Joy Spring Cannata and I DID NOT use Double Branch as a Shelter, knowing it was available was a relief to us, as we were close by in our Son-In-Law and Daughters house. I have spent some time in Double Branch and have found it to be one of those places that appear to truly care about what they are doing. We are so lucky to live in a country like this, where people are united when needed. To Hell with what the News media says about the USA being divided by prejudice. Thanks to all those that helped others and continue to help others in need.

Nancy Refford CaliThank you, Mrs. Chandler and team. You all were beyond amazing! Thanks to all of you wonderful people, my daughter will remember Irma as the time she got to have a sleepover at school, instead of a time of impending doom and fear. Making my daughter feel safe and secure was my number one priority, and with all of your efforts, that goal was achieved. Mrs. Chandler's leadership is an asset and a blessing to all of us that are proud to call ourselves Ranchers. Thank you so so much! - The Cali Family
